Oy. Explaning jokes just sucks the joy out of them, and the onus should really be on the audience, but in the interest of stemming the tide of rampant misunderstanding, let's deconstruct:

And let's clear the air regarding this "video" before Varnae succeeds in further mythologizing it into something it wasn't.
Firstly, it was a GIF, not a video. That in and of itself undermines any "legitimacy" it may carry. And it was not a video of "children being shot." It was a loop of Stephen Seagal popping out from behind something and shooting, and then a shot from God-knows-what movie of the girl from Curly Sue getting tagged with a squib and staring awkwardly before simply falling over. I'd assumed we were all a group of liberal post-post-modernist pop-cynical internet nerds who could handle that sorta thing, but I guess I overshot my audience a bit. And for THAT [and only that] I appologise.
I should also note that I posted it mostly to test if GIFs would run in signatures [and they do. And this one was big].
Now, as for what made Ghost Man claim he's leaving, that genuinely upsets me, so I'm off now to moderate and hopefully get him to come back to the club.

Er, because you're still in attack mode? And I'm not defending myself, I'm explaining exactly and precisely how and where you are wrong. 'Cause if there's one thing I can't stand, it's people misunderstanding me.
Now with that, I'm going to ask permission to close this thread, which is a Moderatorial duty I should have performed long ago, and would have, were it in regards to anyone else.

So I see the whole "new moderator" thread (congrats Ghost Man, BTW) and go to see what the drama was...
I find this thread and start investigating the accusations.
It's only AFTER spending 45 minutes on the subject that I realized this is a rehash of events that occurred 9 MONTHS AGO! Say what? Varnae's been posting as Varnae 2.0 since February. Why is this news?
For the record, I'm fine with adding Ghost Man as a mod. There was never supposed to be only a single moderator and it seems Eryx has headed to greener pastures as well. So Ghost man's a fine replacement.
However, there WILL NOT be more than two. The only reason I allow two is because I don't expect anyone to be as vigilant as I was.
That said, there should be ZERO DELETING OR EDITING of users posts - aside from obvious spam like the WOW incident a few months back. That was handled perfectly by the community.
As it turns out, so was THIS situation was handled by the communit yas well. Y'all CAN work out your problems, you do it time and again.
A word for the mods. If you feel the NEED to delete or edit someone's post, simply move it here instead (along with a note to that effect). It can always be moved back if the community disagrees with the decision. A deletion cannot be undone. If you can't stand the thought of it being on the board, email me (philaahzophy@gmail.com) and I'll take care of whatever needs caring for.
If you have a problem with one of the mods email me and I can investigate before anything can be changed. If anyone's heavy handed I'll deal with it.

Also, (I think it was in the "new mod" thread, but I'll answer it here since I'm gettin' all talky) No one but me can do anything to the main itswickedfun.net site (or the horrorclix.org database if anyone cares). this is a security issue because doing so requires direct acces to the site files which risks my non-HrC sites. If someone would like to change this - again, consider buying my trio of HrC sites. Until then, you can complain all you want and I may or may not fix things based on mood and time.
And to clear one final bit of air, here's a screenshot of the 'ban' page form the admin panel.
(yes, the pops and ads are annoying, but I'm trying to pay bills around here).
As y'all can plainly see NO ONE is banned. there is no evidence that anyone has EVER BEEN banned. So get over it already. If someone needs to be banned I'LL ban them.
