Yes, I noticed the discussions about Monsterpocalypse. After doing a small amount of research it seems that-
Privateer is REALLY behind this game in a way WK never was behind HorrorClix
There are several new expansions coming out in 2009
There are few sites dedicated to the game and/or forums for discussion
There is a fair amount of discussion at the official site, so people ARE talking, they're just doing so in the controlled environment of the official site
So, should I build sub-forums for Monsterpocalypse players? It's not really that much work
I would also consider dedicating a site (of some sort) to creating a monster gallery of sorts since I can't seem to find one.
Do y'all think this is a good idea? Giving MonPoc players somewhere else to talk about their game could even convert some of them to HorrorClixers.
Or should we stay clearly focused and dedicated on our original purpose?

I vote for purity. Nothing against Monsterpocalypse or the players, but I'm not vehemently opposed to including discussions about Monsterpocalypse. I'm in the "not playing Monsterpocalypse" camp, so that's where I come from.

It would be nice to find a site where you can see a monsters stats and when you roll over a figures abilities a window pops up and tells you what the ability does. And many of us have moved on to the new monster game...

Awhile back, I began to think that with WizKids shutting down production on Horrorclix, ItsWickedFun was going to need to expand it's content base some in order to continue to grow. Then I really thought it when Topps shut down WizKids.
Initially, I was thinking perhaps have a place for all things Horror, that sections for books and movies would be a smart addition, but honestly, there huge numbers of forums dedicated to horror books and movies out there and while it's certainly a common interest amongst many of us, it's not exactly our forte. What is, is Horror miniatures games.
Let's face it, future of Horrorclix is pretty bleak. It's possible that we'll see that dual-branded set rumored around Gen Con 2008 if and when someone buys WizKids from Topps. I understand that these things take time, but it seems to me that it's taking an ungodly amount of time for the simple announcement that Topps has accepted someone's offer, and the longer it takes, the more chance that those interested in Clix games wander off to new interests (myself included). ItsWickedFun is basically the bunker where we slip Bob The Zombie scraps of meat and have nightmares about hands coming out of the walls, all the while coming up with new ideas for our beloved game. We can keep that up for awhile, but, just like the folks in the movie, we know the future just isn't going to be the same.
If ItsWickedFun is going to survive, I think it's worth while to expand to incorporate other Horror miniatures games, and another CMG is a good start. It doesn't mean we ditch Horrorclix on any level. It means we open a new forum and get some new blood, and hopefully drum up some further interest in Horrorclix at the same time (as Aahz pointed out). I mean let's face it, when you're a Monsterpocalypse player shelling out $9.99 for a booster (at online prices - or $14.99 retail if you're supporting your FLGS), $20 bucks for a brick of Horrorclix doesn't seem so bad. And the rules aren't changing, and there are pleanty of helpful folks on this forum willing to help the new guy with the rules, so what not? And then we have them!
And as Aahz/Space Ghost said, if we can offer things that aren't offered officially (monster stats/gallery, rumors, scenarios), all the more reason for them to wander on in. ItsWickedFun was able to become THE unoffical Horrorclix forums (just as HCRealms is to Heroclix). I see no reason why we couldn't become THE unoffical Monsterpocalypse forums as well.

I'm a little torn here. I'm not opposed to Monsterpocalypse, but it just doesn't compare to HorrorClix in my opinion. The figures aren't as cool, the game isn't as fun to play, the prices are higher, there's very little choice in terms of choosing a monster/faction and, oh yeah, KAIJU =/= HORROR. Don't get me wrong. I love Godzilla movies as much as the next guy. It's just that they're really action, almost superhero movies more than horror.
I'd like to see this site maintain HorrorClix as its focus, but a Mosterpocalypse section wouldn't bother me. I just wouldn't want to see Monsterpocalypse overrun HorrorClix to the point of the latter's extinction.
I totally agree with your assessment of MonPoc not being horror, Yuichi. However...
If we add MonPoc sections here and things go as I hope they will then those sections will "overrun" the HorrorClix sections. At least in the sense that 90% of the site's visitors will be active in the MonPoc sections and not the HrC sections.
But that also means that the site will remain alive. As far as I can tell the only sites left on the internet that have anything to do with HorrorClix are the three IWF sites and the Spanish HrC forums. That's it. And the IWF sites get less traffic every month.
I'm considering adding MonPoc in hopes of keeping the HrC sites alive. Without some fresh blod I don't see them being around in 12 months. That's not a threat, and I don't mean to be a downer, it's just the reality of what I see going on.
HrC will be pushed TO the side, but it won't be pushed COMPLETELY aside as long as there are still folx interested in it. Although we have nearly 500 members here (499 as I type this!), less than a dozen post on a weekly basis. Something needs to be done to get more people visiting here. I'd prefer that be a new HorrorClix release or the current fan base inciting hundreds to play the game and come seeking information. But we all know that's not going to be happening in 2009, so this is the only other option I can think of at the moment. Other suggestions are, as always, welcome!

We do need new people here, and I guess adding Monsterpocalypse stuff isn't exactly going to diminish the number of HorrorClix players sticking around.
i'm really just starting off on the Monpoc game (again thanks Uberman) from what i see i will have a bit of reading to do and some money to spend. I hope we do start a section for it here, could it not just be started as a Cabal group and only those that wish to join can?

Im a purist. I simply did not like monsterpocolypse and it found no player base in my area, it also seems to be doing poorly as I am starting to see the discount signs on it. and I stopped carrying it.
