I hope they make more movie style starter sets for HrC. AVP, FVJ, Hellboy ...why not carry the trend on?
I get a bit bored looking through my models wondering what they are meant to be.
I will definitely be annoyed if they announce something like Freakshow 2. Why was Cotswold Giant not a ....giant? What the hell is a Snake oil salesman all about.
If you peanut heads at Wizkids want to make money but lack inspiring takes on the horror genre, take our sets, make them and offer us all the first few boosters for our troubles!
PLEASE, PLEASE do Sarcanis's Outter space set first, (add to it Dead Space and a Predalien Chase figure). I'll be all over that set like acne on a geeks face!
Freakshow was awesome, Giants weren't around back then, and what's wrong with Snake-Oil Salesman? And although I clearly don't object to more licensed properties, I DO object a little bit to those licensed properties being the bread and butter of the game. Generics/originals in the main booster sets are part of what I love about this game. It lets you get creative with your team builds and adds a whole new mythology to the game.
And don't make my abortion of a space-themed set, please. Not as it is, because it was all just sketchy ideas and needs alot of flavor tweaking. Not to mention almost none of it is done. Not that I've given up on it or anything, but I care little about aliens compared to CreepypastaClix and its sister project, SCP HorrorClix.
HOWEVER this brings up an important point. Is WK/Neca aware of this site? How many of the amateur designers here would want to go professional? Of those, how many would work fairly cheap because it's a labor of love?
I've thought about this, and I decided some time ago that if we ever truly saw the official return of HorrorClix, I would still continue to work on HorrorClix 1.5 and encourage everyone else to do the same. All this would change for me is take a lot of the pressure off, but there's no reason we still shouldn't add as much to the game as possible, even if we cease to be the most official source of new material.
BESIDES, UNTIL I'M HOLDING A NECA-PRODUCED HORRORCLIX BOOSTER IN MY HAND, THERE'S NO GUARANTEE. FINGERS CROSSED.
Apparently, they folks at WK/NECA pop over to HCRealms periodically. THere was a recent thread there that a number of us IWF.net'ers chimed in on (yours truly included) to reference IFW.net. The Dark Ones only know if someone at WK/NECA took us up on that or not.
@Remz: Snake Oil Salesman is a Old West thing; Back in the late 1800's there were con men selling snake oil (literal snake oil in most cases) as a cure-all for every thing from bad breath to dandruff to whatever. Sarcanis is correct that the Cotswold Giant not being a giant was due to the Giant thing not existing in HrC. Giants came in NM.

I found the Freakshow boring to collect (apart from the clowns) and I REALLY don't see what's so scary about a man that sells snake oil.
And YES Neca, point a gun at Sarcanis until he finishes the space set. The Lab was my favourite set so far and this would be the next best thing. (modest Sarcanis)

I agree on several points. I would definitely love to see more iconic (and some not so iconic) figures make their HrC debut! Imagine a world filled with Michael Myers, Pinhead, the Cenobites, Wishmaster (Make your weeshes!), Chucky, maybe Candyman, the Jigsaw puppet (little tricycle included of course ), etc. I know a Silent Hill and Resident Evil line would be huge as well. And I'd love to see more mythological beasts included. Mothman, Jersey Devil, Hellhounds (aka Black Dogs), Dover Demon, Jacko, Springheel Jack, Chupacabras, etc. And of course, as Sarcanis said, I love the originals and genetics that you can twist and mold with your own creative thoughts.
But I also back Sarcanis 110% when he talks about customs! No matter what they give us (IF they give us anything!), I would love to see customs continue to flourish! Thats one of the things I love most about this game. From scenarios to full fledged maps, PT cards, and of course new monsters with their stat cards! I can honestly say that since discovering this game, I am blown away by the creative efforts and talents that the HrC fan base has shown. You all are some of the most creative people I've come across. Which is a big thing for me! So bring on the new!!! But let's keep up our own lines, and show WK how it's truly done.

Yeah, I was wondering what was going on with that. I guess I should have been working on my next addition to it but I was kinda waiting to see if anyone still cared about it, and I have my hands full with a billion other things. I need help, guys. But I guess it is time for me to email WizKids. I will mention to them that I am not happy with my job. But I think I should have a little more to show them first, and in order to do that, I really do need help, because I'm lucky if I get to play HorrorClix once or twice a week, let alone design, playtest, tweak, playtest, tweak, playtest, mod, paint entire sets' worth of first-draft figures, and maintain the wiki, and promote the game. I need help primarily in the playtesting department.
I'm guessing the other product they're bringing back first is Mage Knight. I've heard there's a Mage Knight board game or something coming down the pipeline.
I thought this too, although he said he got the email 2 months ago, and the Mage Knight announcement was posted 3 months ago.
Well I sent a request about what exactly was ment. I dont think it can be mageknight. Now that ive been doing research and getting back into the industy more activley, The email came after the annoucment for mage knight. Im not sure what else they mean to bring forward, bear in mind it may be some sort of CCG, something totally new.
I think we are going to see a comback of it, Neca have been activley renewing rights to directly horror releated stuff. I personally expect a booster set based on the big boys called legends or somthing of the nature releasing some of the lesser ones, then action packs of the bigger ones.
A new starter release should be expected first to be honest, as they need to get word out to us, but also to the fresh market of players who never even knew about it. We will see and I will keep you guys updated every chance I get. Finally again I ask that everyone that can donate a dollar or two to this site, and to email neca. It doesnt matter if you get a response someone will read it, and dont be afraid to repeat this by emailing once every 2 weeks. A flood of emails can make a difference if they are well written. Also make sure to mention this website, it shows a hardcore group of players, I have taken to linking to websites that still carry large stocks of horrorclix as I think this shows the desire for people to buy.
I am sorry to all of you that pmed me but I am giving all info I have here. I have no secrets to share!
