Just got my Freak on!
Hey, just received the 4-pack of bricks for the Freakshow today (48 booster packs!!!) thanks to the beauty of Ebay! Had zero FS figures up until now. Got a TREMENDOUS pull from all the boosters. I now own every R/E/V there is for the set, along with all of the Uniques (including a few doubles of those) and two LE of Wacko Jacko! Since I haven't gotten a chance to play with any of them yet, which figures to do you recommend I jump into the fray with? I know I've heard a TON about Yama, but what about the other Uniques or WJ. And how do the R/E/V fair? Looking forward to putting some carnival theme music on and creating a Freakshow Dream Team!
Lol, I was gonna say Yama. By far one of my favorite pieces to play. Ringmaster is a little tough to get down but if you play him right he will fuck your opponent's day up. Zombie Strongman provides attack and damage values rarely seen in zombies, and Herculon kicks it up a notch with Invulnerable. Bobo is about as useful in battle as you would expect an angry bear to be. Flying Winkies is amazing, but I've found the R&E versions don't hold up very well. Monster Patrol/Bailey and Jameson are fun to play.
Morty & Chuckles with Pod Mother, Tendril Queen and Zombie Drill Sergeant is good times, your opponent might be rather surprised when you start possessing everything with your zombies. Wacko Jacko Lantern is decent and undeniably fun to play, but he just doesn't have the damage output to really be worth his points unless your opponent isn't playing any Invulnerable monsters. Elephant Man is a beast and I don't mean that in a literal sense.
Honestly as much as people like to rag on it for some reason, there are very few bad figures in Freakshow, probably the fewest of any set. I'd avoid playing Carny/Skell and King Kuranes (R/E Kuranes are fine). Snack Pack is dubious due to its pog-like nature, but for 25 points and with that power set, it's a chance that may be worth taking sometimes. Everything else in the set has given me pretty good results so far.

Ugh, I will never play Snack Pack again. Decided to play them once without looking at the dial (needed 25 pts exactly). First attack with them, rolled a critical miss. Man, was I surprised to see what waited for me on the second click. I took them out of rotation, and never looked back.

Aye, anything with Martial Artist is NOT for the unlucky, especially those little fellas.
Don't suppose you could knock a few of my Freakshow needs out with that case of yours.
My trades are in my sig and I have A LOT of lab figures extra that aren't on there (3 bricks to be precise). Drop me a PM if interested.
Heh... I had the exact OPPOSITE experience: Our crew here were playing back in the days of WK-Approved Play, and ticker1 pulled out Snack Pack. I mocked him terribly about that little detail... until the M-F'er made crit-hit after crit-hit, and made all of his MA rolls...
Never again will I mock Snack Pack.
