Nice to see an agnostic taking refuge in The Church. When you turn in your book report, why don't you ask the nuns about Jesus being an anarchist?

I'm an agnostic, not an atheist. If there is a God or gods, isn't enough to show faith in them, as opposed to them in particular?
Besides...it's the ideal that counts, not the idol. Even without God or Jesus involved, Easter is still a day of peace and forgiveness.

Actually, without Jesus involved it's a celebration of fertility (Easter Bunny) and Spring/Rebirth (brightly colored Easter Eggs). Forgiveness only comes into play with the resurrection of Christ.

Yes...but in a country that's predominately Christian (although the ol' mixing pot is certainly active) and built on Christian ideals (to the point that our money says "In God We Trust"), the Christian ideals of forgiveness and peace assimilate themselves into the holiday.

Sure, if you consider the first 100 years or so of American history not be building the nation. I guess all those pre-civil war non-Christians were just mucking around. It wasn't until the Christians took over that actual nation-building began, right? The slogan didn't appear on currency until 1864. And the founding fathers were not, for the most part Christians. You may be unaware of this, but many non-Christian faiths use the term "God".

Oh, I completely understand that.
However, we're getting back into that whole government argument, which I've already said I'm done with.

Hmm i' mnot really strong on government issues. I don't want a Big brother Government. And though it would personally benefit me I wouldn't like a Clockwork Oarnge one either.
But You know dystopia and all that cal.
